Where wholesale loses time.
When you have more than one warehouse or shop, the question “how much is there” has several answers. Price lists come in different formats and deliveries arrive in parts. Here are five situations and what we would change.
BeforeA supplier sends a price list as a spreadsheet or PDF. A salesperson retypes the lines and applies the agreed terms.
AfterLines are matched to your catalogue and unknown ones set aside. The quote is a draft for approval.
BeforeBefore you promise goods, someone phones the other location. “In the system” does not mean “free”.
AfterYou see on-hand, reserved and free quantity with the update time. Stale data gives a warning.
BeforeThe supplier ships part of the order, the line is marked done, and the date for the rest stays in an email.
AfterUndelivered lines sit in one list with a date and a next step. A partial delivery does not close the line.
